My wife and I have been attending a couples Sunday school class for several months. It has been interesting to see how the couple who lead the class attempt to get the others to communicate without really dealing with the basic issues of selfishness and pride that are the roots of most of most mis-communication or non-communication.
Last week in that
class I shared a
vision I had several months ago,
and I'd like to share it with you too. One lady came up to me that
after church and thanked me for sharing the vision because it had
hit her right between the eyes!! Bingo! Another guy in the class told
that he will use the vision in his counseling job! (If it's good, it
must be from God. If not, it's probably just me).
Several months before that class as I awoke one morning I lay in bed half asleep and half awake. I saw in my mind's eye an intricate house of cards, and a lady standing next to it. The house of cards was very complex, with five or six levels, and the cards were all white. The lady standing next to the house of cards was a pleasant looking lady, and the house of cards was obviously hers.
Then I sensed someone approaching the house of cards, and the lady turned into a vicious guard dog, and scared the approaching person off so that no harm could come to the delicate house of cards. Then I awoke.
As I lay there, I said, "What was that about, Lord?" I got the strong sense that the house of cards was the lady's self will and self righteousness, and she was nice as could be as long as no one came close to disturbing her self will and self righteousness, but when danger approached, she reacted viciously! Just like the Pharisees!!
So I have learned to question whether a person's anger is righteous,
Eph 4:26 BE ANGRY, AND yet DO NOT SIN; do not let the sun go down on your anger, Eph 4:27 and do not give the devil an opportunity.
or maybe the anger is just the old selfish, proud sin nature!
Gal 5:19-21 Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you just as I have forewarned you that those who practice such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
Notice that getting rid of the "works of the flesh" from our lives is so important that failure to do so will keep us from inheriting the Kingdom of God!!!!
I do know that I am most in harmony with people who really love the Lord from a humble and contrite heart and are seeking to please Him first rather than themselves or others. The power of His love is so great!
