The Best Defense Is A Good Offense

I have lived as a Christian since 1976, and have had the privilege of being an internet prayer team coordinator for an internet Christian teacher for eleven years.  I have also been on church prayer teams during that time period, and have actively prayed for various people from time to time.

My observation is that most Christians bounce from crisis to crisis, praying according to their understanding of what is going on in their lives, never really addressing the unseen and invisible influences which are affecting their lives.

I understand that this may be a lot of hooey (worthless, imaginary stuff), but this is what I feel led by the Holy Spirit to do, so I commit it to you for your prayerful consideration.

We find in the Christian Scriptures, especially the New Testament, that the overriding goal of God for each person is that we might know Him, and that we might do His will.  And yet it appears to me that the overriding goal of most people, Christian and non-Christian, is to be healthy, safe, and having all their desires satisfied.  The default condition of mankind is living for self rather than living for God, and this default condition continues until a person exercises their will to change the focus of their life.  Some people serve other people or other creatures in the matters of this life, while some (apparently few) people receive the desire to do God's will God's way, and this, I believe, has both temporal and eternal consequences.

The result of my 35+ years of Bible study and prayer for wisdom and discernment has resulted in the following pattern of prayer and exercise of spiritual authority which I commend to you, dear reader, merely as an example for you to prayerfully consider.  Your responsibility, as is mine, is to be the best that you can be for The One True God our Creator, Sustainer, Savior and  King, and to carry out His will for you in His way and on His timeline for you.

So, here is my morning routine:

1.  I say 'Good morning, Father, Lord Jesus and Holy Spirit!  Thank You for everything!'

2.  In addition I say, "Father, I gladly bow my knees before You because it is written that 'Every knee shall bow, and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord - to Your glory, O God, our Father.'  An additional reason for bowing my knees to God is that the first time I did so at 3:30 p.m. on May 15, 1976, He set me free from my sins and performed a whole lot of emotional healing in my life!  There are wonderful benefits of humbling ourselves before The Most High God and His Son Jesus Christ, and bowing in particular!

3.  I drink a cup of grape juice and eat a Ritz cracker in celebration of the Lord's Supper, saying as I do so 'Father, as I eat this bread and drink this cup I eat Your flesh, Lord Jesus, and drink Your Blood, and claim Your death as my death to the world, the flesh and the adversary so that Your life may become fully manifested in me (as Jesus instructed in Matthew 16:24, and as the Apostle Paul stated in Galatians 2:20).

After this I enter into a series of exercises of spiritual authority which I believe is part of learning to rule and reign with Christ to accomplish Father's will not only in my life but throughout creation.  I don't want to leave anyone or any other creature out because of neglect on my part.  They are generally based on 2 Corinthians 10:4-6.

4.  Father, I bind everything and everyone that You want to be bound, and I loose everything and everyone that You want to be loosed throughout creation, in Your name, Lord Jesus, amen (amen means 'so be it', or 'make it so').

5.  Father, I cast down everything and everyone that You want to be cast down, and I lift up everything and everyone that You want to be lifted up throughout creation, in Your name, Lord Jesus, amen.

6.  Father, I take all of creation captive to Your obedience, Lord Jesus, as You will, Father, in Your name, Lord Jesus, amen.  (By this I understand that God will create the circumstances which He wants us to experience while maintaining our free will, which is the basis of His relationship with His creation).

7.  Father, I punish everything and everyone whom You want to be punished, and I bless everything and everyone whom You want to be blessed, in Your name, Lord Jesus, amen.  (This is to bring about justice for the 'bad guys' and mercy and grace for the 'good guys').

8.  Father, I tread down every serpent and scorpion and all the power of the enemy which You want to be trodden down, in Your name, Lord JEsus, amen, and I thank You and declare that 'nothing shall in any manner harm us', in Your name, Lord Jesus, amen.

9.  Father, I deliver to satan for the destruction of the flesh everyone whom You want to be so delivered that the spirit may be saved in Your Day, Lord Jesus - in Your name, Lord Jesus, amen.  (I know that this seems harsh, but I trust God to use this to deal with the really bad guys who are beyond repentance to protect others from their badness).  And Father, please draw to Jesus everyone whom You want to be drawn to Jesus for salvation and sanctification in the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, in Your name, Lord Jesus, amen.

10.  Father, I sever all bondage that You want to be severed, and I pray that You would establish the bonds of love and peace which You want to be established throughout creation, in Your name, Lord Jesus, amen.

11.  Father, please bring me and every other creature into contact with whomever You will, and grant that we might communicate boldly and clearly everything that You want to be communicated, and to do everything that You want to be done, in Your name, Lord Jesus, amen.  And grant us the grace to receive Your communications and works through others, in Your name, Lord Jesus, amen.

Now unto You, King Eternal, Immortal, Invisible, the Only Wise God, be glory and honor forever and ever, amen!!

Father, please help us to rejoice evermore, to pray without ceasing, and in everything to give You thanks - for this is Your will for us in Christ Jesus our Lord.  Amen.

Finally, I say, "Father, I declare 'total victory' over every adversary and every adversity because You, Lord Jesus, declared total victory from the cross when You said, "It is finished!"

Let me know, dear reader, if you find any of this to be helpful!

Thanks!

PS:  I recently became aware of our need to "cast off every weight, and the sin which so easily besets us" so that we can freely look to Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith.  Hebrews 12:1-2

I was also reminded that we need to break any influence of witchcraft which may be affecting us or hindering us from knowing God and doing His will    Act 8:9-11, Galatians 3:1
